Gift sets: building a set that feels like one gift
A set works when its pieces belong together. When they do not, it feels like items put in the same box.
A set is a collection; a box is how it is presented
The set is the group of items. A custom box, with fitted inserts, is how they are presented. A set can come in a custom box, and a custom box can hold any product. Decide them separately.
Build around a theme
Pick a use or an occasion: a desk set, a travel set, a welcome set, a Ramadan set. Choose pieces that suit that theme and share a colour or material so they look related. A leather notebook, a pen and a card holder in the same colour make a set; the same items in four colours look assembled.
Balance the pieces
- One main item, such as a notebook or a bottle, and two or three smaller supporting items.
- Pieces of similar quality, so none lets down the others.
- Items that fit the box without crushing each other.
Branding
Put the logo on one or two items rather than all of them, and use the method that suits each material: engraving, printing or a deboss. Keep the same position on matching pieces.
Presentation
A set is the first thing the recipient sees before they use anything. A fitted insert, a clean closure and a card carry as much of the impression as the items.
